My Experiences with AzuraCast
In a nutshell its basically a Open source software similar to Centovacast. Being its free and runs good on a Linux vps with 4 gigs of ram and 4 CPUs like I use over at servercheap.com, it is a good hobbyist Radio software. Besides using local media files it can also use playlists on other servers, i even have used playlists off of archive.org to utilize already stored songs. They are constantly adding newer and improved features as well.
Compared to some of the Low cost budget Radio services i have used , AzuraCast on a 4cpu 4gig Linux vps performs just as well if not better. I have had up to 4 stations running and still did not max out the resources on my VPS.
Is AzuraCast as good as Centovacast, Well depends on a persons tastes I think AzuraCast has Centovacast beat with the fact its free and also has a WebDJ system that is decent, allows you to stream live even microphone support. In the end id chose AzuraCast because of its price and features. Centovacast is a bit more resource heavy as well, but Centovacast is very stable and reliable as a software.
